A BioGascleaner makes your biogas plant profitable

“Desulphurisation of biogas is absolutely necessary for economical engine operation. The costs of servicing and repairs will increase significantly with uncleaned biogas, and a gas filter can pay for itself in 1-1½ years. We’ve had very favourable experiences with BioGasclean’s desulphurisation plant, which functions very efficiently and reliably.”

Thomas Elsenbruch, Biogas Program Manager
GE Energy - Jenbacher Gas engines

Depending on the biomass and the preceding production process the content of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) in the raw biogas is typically between 0,1% and 3,0% (1.000-30.000 ppm). H2S will under combustion convert into sulphuric acid (H2SO4) which will lead to heavy corrosion of engines and auxiliaries.

The result is much shorter life time, loss of income during overhauls and break downs as well as expensive repairs and frequent oil shifts. This is why the engine manufacturers – in order to providing full warranty on the engines – request that H2S in the clean gas must not exceed 250 ppm. However, if required, BioGasclean can reduce the H2S content to significantly lower values.

The BioGascleaners can be designed to meet any biogas flow and H2S content in the raw biogas. The gas cleaners can both be installed in new and existing biogas plants. BioGasclean offers 4 different solutions:
